New to RCT3
I am new to this game and I think it is great.
Big Sims and Sim City fan. I would appreciate if someone could explain where the "mods" go. There are some terrific downloads to be had, coasters, scenerios, etc. but I do not know where to put them in the game. Thank You |

RE: New to RCT3
Welcome to RCT3X.
Your My Documents folder should have a foldercalled RCT3. In there you'll find folders like coasters, structures, pools and parks. Simply place your download in the correct folder and it should appear in RCT3 when you next play!

RE: New to RCT3
First I recomend that you create a folder for downloading into. I download quite alot so I made a folder on my drive c: called "download". Then I have made a subfolder called "RCT-3". Inside RCT-3 I have more subfolders called "CSO" and "parks" etc. I download my custom scenery to C:\downloads\RCT-3\CSO. This keeps everything sorted out and makes it easy to store onto a CD later.
You have downloaded a CSO now what? In most cases you either have a zip or an rar file. You need to extract the files useing winzip or winrar. Winrar can extract both zip and rar files. You want to extract into an empty folder. If useing winrar you can right click on the rar file and select extract to - "folder name". Once extracted you should end up with a folder haveing the CS name. Inside that folder there should be 2 files and one or more folders. What you need to do is open my computer and navigate to program files\atari\Rollercoaster tycoon 3. Then style\themed\. drag the CS folder into the themed folder. Thats all there is to it. Most sets come with a read me file. That file may contain special install instructions. You should always read the readme files and any txt files. |
